The South Carolina Electronic Filing System (E-Filing System) is preparing for scheduled system maintenance. Part of this scheduled maintenance requires that the E-Filing System be unavailable for use by Authorized E-Filers and court personnel during the dates and time frames outlined below. On Saturday June 27, 2026, it is expected that the E-Filing System will be unavailable from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More significantly, the E-Filing System will be unavailable beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, lasting until approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026. During this time period, Authorized E-Filers will not be able to access the system to submit E-Filings or retrieve documents. More importantly, Authorized E-Filers must be prepared to submit filings prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 in order for those filings to be considered filed by that date. See Rule 4(c), SCEF (stating that documents transmitted and received by the E-Filing System prior to 11:59:59 pm are considered filed on that day). Authorized E-Filers are cautioned that this announced scheduled maintenance does not constitute a Technical Failure or Technical Difficulty under Section 9 of the South Carolina Electronic Filing Policies and Guidelines (SCEF). Authorized E-Filers are urged to plan accordingly.

Motions for extension of time pursuant to § (c)(9)(A) of the Supreme Court’s April 3, 2020 Order re: Operation of the Trial Courts During the Coronavirus Emergency may be filed using new Action/Action Type “Motion/Extend Time Pursuant to Order dated 4/3/2020.” In accordance with the Order, filers will not be charged a filing or technology fee for these motions.

Please note that the following Common Pleas case subtypes are exempt from e-filing. Until further notice, these case subtypes must be filed in the traditional manner.
500 - Post Conviction Relief
510 - Sexual Predator Actions
520 - Mandamus
530 - Habeas Corpus
599 - Inmate Petitions/Other
